About me

Hi! I’m June, a lived experience expert and qualified person-centred counsellor. As the name suggests, it’s really important to me that people are able to work in a way that allows them to feel comfortable, explore and grow. In both my training and consultation work, the Social Model of Disability is the basis for all my work.

I’ve previously worked in a disabled people’s organisation for six years and have worked with disabled people in education for a further five. I have a Master's degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I am BACP registered.

My expertise

I am passionate about holding space for others when they need it and I am a qualified BACP registered person-centred counsellor. I have worked with a variety of clients with different presenting issues. I particularly enjoy working with neurodiverse clients and finding ways to support their journey. I want to create a space in which people can explore their identity and build confidence at their own pace.
I’m passionate about finding approaches that remove barriers for disabled people in all areas of life. The Social Model of Disability is the basis for all my work and I want my work to introduce as many people to the model as possible. I have also completed research on autistic people’s experience of therapy, exploring recommendations for future practice.
As well as working in the third sector and education, I have also spent five years contributing to a group that helps remove transport specific barriers. I collaborate with people to identify new solutions that will work to remove the specific barriers that their clients or service users may experience. I present solutions that are often very easy to implement and can make life easier for everyone.
